Level 2 Groundworker Apprentice

We are looking for Hillingdon borough residents who are interested in completing a Level 2 Groundworker apprenticeship. The successful candidate will spend 18 months working as a Goundworker Apprentice as part of the CITB Shared Apprenticeship Scheme. Employed by Evolve Apprentices while earning a wage, gaining experience, and a qualification.

£4.81 to £9.50 (National Minimum Wage for their age)

- Working week
Monday-Friday, weekends may be an option. Minimum of 35 hours per week but potential for more. Approx. 8am-4pm but hours will be confirmed by contractor after successfully passing the Stage 1 & 2 Interview.

What will the apprentice be doing?
Alongside general labouring, groundworkers are responsible for supporting the building process during construction from the start to finish of the build.
– General labouring
– Prepare the site ready for the structural building works to take place
– Marking out the area for the site using string lines and putting up barriers and safety signs
– Installing drainage systems, concreting, constructing roads and pathways
– Hard landscaping and working outdoors in all weathers
– Assisting the other trades as they come on site
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
The qualification you would gain is the Level 2 Groundworker (Standard) where we will be looking to partner with Multi Trade Training to provide the training.
This training will mainly be through remote learning with a paid study time as needed up to 7 hours/1 day per week. You are expected to travel when necessary for training and/or assessments. You will be responsible to managing/arranging with your line manager.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
On completion of this apprenticeship, you can work as a qualified Junior Groundworker where, with more experience, you can look to progress into a senior groundworker position or work your way up to a foreman/supervisor position. With experience and drive, you could end up as a manager or even run your own company.
You will be eligible for the Skilled Worker (Blue) CSCS Card after the level 2 qualification

Level 1 Certificate in Health & Safety in a Construction Environment (passed) desired
CSCS Card (valid) desired
