Level 2 Painter and Decorator Apprenticeship

We are looking for Hillingdon borough residents who are interested in completing a Level 2 Painting & Decorating apprenticeship. The successful candidate will spend 36 months working as a P&D Apprentice as part of the CITB Shared Apprenticeship Scheme. Employed by Evolve Apprentices while earning a wage, gaining experience, and qualification.

£4.81 to £9.50 (National Minimum Wage for their age)

- Working week
Monday-Friday, weekends may be an option. Minimum of 35 hours per week but potential for more. Approx. 8am-4pm but hours will be confirmed by contractor after successfully passing the Stage 1 & 2 Interview.

What will the apprentice be doing?
While all apprenticeships contain a fair amount of labouring, tidying of the work area, and tool fetching, P&D apprentices will also progress into the below tasks.
- Applying paint, stains, varnishes, and other finishes
- Using brushes, rollers or spraying equipment
- Applying primers and undercoats, or varnishes and glazes
- Laying dust sheets to protect areas from paint
- Preparing surfaces for decorating by filling holes and sealing cracks
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
The qualification you would be working to is the Level 2 Painter Decorator (Standard) where we will be looking to partner with M.I.T. to provide the training.
This training will mainly be through remote learning with a paid study time as needed up to 7 hours/1 day per week. You are expected to travel when necessary though most assessments will be done on site. You will be responsible to managing/arranging with your line manager.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
On completion of this apprenticeship, you can work as a qualified Junior Painter Decorator where, with more experience, you can look to progress into a senior painter decorator position, site/contracts/project management, self-employment, or painting and decorating business owner.
You will be eligible for the Skilled Worker (Blue) CSCS Card after the level 2 qualification

Level 1 Certificate in Health & Safety in a Construction Environment (passed) desired
CSCS Card (valid) desired
