Brief overview

We are looking for Westminster borough residents who are interested in completing a Level 3 Business Administrator apprenticeship. The successful candidate will spend 18 months working as an Admin Apprentice as part of the CITB Shared Apprenticeship Scheme. Employed by Evolve Apprentices while earning a wage, gaining work experience, and a qualification.

£11.05 per hour (London Living Wage)

Statutory Sick and Holiday Pay + Bank Holiday Pay, automatic enrolment into the NEST Pension Scheme, Bike2Work Scheme partners, Apprenticeship Oyster Card available for first-year travel discounts, NUS Discount Card, and course costs covered by Evolve.

  • Working week

Monday-Friday, weekends may be an option. Minimum of 35 hours per week but the potential for more. Approx. 8 am – 4 pm but hours will be confirmed by the contractor after successfully passing the Stage 1 & 2 Interview.

What will the apprentice be doing?

This apprenticeship will be based in an office on a busy construction site and an appreciation for following Health & Safety protocols is a must. Your general tasks could include:

– Controlling company and project documentation
– Sorting, storing and retrieving electronic and hard copy documents including updating drawings registers and hard copies of drawings held on site
– Producing document progress reports for senior managers
– Ordering of office supplies and liaising with other office staff

– Completing daily diaries; Labour allocations sheets and timesheets

– Review and update weekly progress reports which will involve walking around the site and discussing with the section managers

These tasks can be repetitive with high attention to detail needed.

 

 

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

The qualification you would be working for is the Level 3 Business Administration (Standard)

This training will mainly be through remote learning with paid study time as needed up to 7 hours/1 day per week. You are expected to travel if needed for training and assessments. You will be responsible for managing/arranging with your line manager.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Upon completion of this apprenticeship, you can work as a qualified Business Administrator where, with more experience, you can look to progress into an Office Management position. This could also develop into working in a construction company’s head office overseeing various projects.

On top of that, this is not a construction-specific apprenticeship with the Business Admin qualification containing transferrable skills to other industries.

Qualifications

GCSE or equivalent English (Grade 4 (C) and above / Level 2) required
GCSE or equivalent ICT (Grade 1-3 and above / Level 1) desired
GCSE or equivalent Mathematics (Grade 4 (C) and above / Level 2) required

CITB Health, Safety & Environment (HS&E) Operative test (passed within 2 years) desired

CSCS Card (valid) desired

Good working knowledge of MS Excel, Powerpoint, and word is required
